Statement on Finsbury Park terrorist attack

In light of the terror attack today, we would like to send out our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all those affected.

We condemn these events which occurred against worshipers leaving Muslim Welfare House, where a man has died and several injured.

This attack on innocent civilians during the holy month of Ramadan is despicable and will not succeed in dividing us.

Earlier today we convened a meeting with the Prime Minister and local faith leaders, where she outlined her commitment to ensure that she will work harder to tackle all forms of extremism and ensure a consistent approach to all forms of hate crime.

We as a community and faith leaders stand united with a message of peace.
