This Sunday (14/2) between 9 am and 6 pm the VAXI TAXI Vaccination Project will be running at Holland Park synagogue- a collaboration between Dr Sharon Raymond, GP and Director of Covid Crisis Rescue Foundation, Dr Yasmin Razak, Clinical Director of Neohealth PCN, and West London CCG, with the support of NHS England, the London black cabs, and the London Fire Brigade.
The project entails setting up a pop COVID-19 vaccination site at the synagogue and vaccinating members of the local synagogue, church, gurdwara, mosque and homeless shelter. There will be clinician specialists in vaccinations on hand to address any queries regarding the vaccine.
Where transport to the site is a challenge for some people due to medical conditions or lack of access to transport, there will be a wheelchair accessible Vaxi Taxi transporting members of any of the centres eligible for vaccination to and from the site, along with a carer to assist as needed.
The Vaxi Taxi Project demonstrates NHS and community collaboration to beat COVID-19 and get us to that light at the end of the tunnel sooner, ensuring we address myths around the vaccination and inequalities of health.
