Faiths Forum for London with Team London, part of the Mayor of London’s office are working with young people aged 16-18, from faith communities in six target London Boroughs  to help improve at least 8 small pieces of derelict ground and transform them into pleasant community spaces.

Each youth volunteer is matched with a retired individual from a different faith background who is willing to pass on their gardening skills and enthusiasm to a new generation.

This project doesn’t just transform empty lots and abandoned rubbish areas into beautiful neighbourhood pockets of green, it joins together young and old in integrated and trusting relationships, and seeks to promote community integration, empower the local environment and develop the participants’ personal development.

So far, we have ran events in Bromley, Isle of Dogs, East Greenwich, Barnet and Hounslow.
